Qiong Xie is now an associate professor in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, School of Pharmacy, Fudan University. She received her B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from School of Pharmacy, Fudan University in 2002 and 2007 respectively. Since 2007, she worked in School of Pharmacy at Fudan University. From 2010 to 2011, she went to University of Arizona as a visiting scholar with Professor Victor J. Hruby. Her research interests are primarily in the chemical synthesis, design & discovery, and molecular mechanisms of small molecules in treating central nervous system (CNS) diseases and inflammatory diseases. Specific research areas include neurodegenerative diseases, neuropathic pain, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, and cancer.
She was the recipient of the 2010 “Chen Guang” Project of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. In 2017 she received the “Special Award” in Mini-course Teaching Contest and the “Second Prize” in Teaching Competence Competition within Young Teachers from National Colleges of Pharmacy. She was also one of the recipients of 2017 Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (First Prize) and 2017 National Medical Science and Technology Award (Second Prize).
