Dr. Dao-Feng Chen graduated from Shanghai Medical University in 1986 and obtained his Ph.D. degree from China Pharmaceutical University in 1991. He joined Fudan University in 1991 and became a full professor in 1997, and worked as an associate dean of School of Pharmacy from 1995 to 2005. He worked as visiting professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA) in 2002 and Kyushu University (Japan) in 2006. Dr. Chen was named as Trans-Century Training Talent by the Ministry of Education of China in 1996 and outstanding young scientist by the Natural Science Foundation of China in 2009. He is the chairman of Department of Pharmacognosy at Fudan University and a member of the State Pharmacopoeia Commission of China. He is also an editorial board member of Current Traditional Medicine, Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines and Acta Pharmacologica Sinica.
