Dr. Juan Xiong received her Ph. D. degree in Pharmacognosy in 2010 from University of Tokushima in Japan, under the guidance of Professor Yoshihisa Takayishi and Professor Yoshiki Kashiwada. Prior to her doctoral work, Dr. Xiong obtained her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Pharmacy from Wuhan University in 2005 and 2007, respectively. In the early 2011, she joined the Department of Natural Products Chemistry, School of Pharmacy at Fudan University. Her research interest mainly lies in the isolation, structure elucidation, and synthetic optimization of novel bioactive natural products for the treatment of the neurodegenerative disorders (e.g. Alzheimer’s disease, AD) and cardiovascular diseases from traditional Chinese medicines, medicinal plants, rare and endangered plants, and microorganisms. Dr. Xiong has published over 30 research papers and reviews, and applied for 12 invention patents
