On December 1, 2018, the 12th China Pharmaceutical Conference was successfully held in Guangzhou. The conference was sponsored by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association (CPA), the Pharmaceutics Professional Committee of CPA, the China Chapter of the Controlled Release Society (CRS) and the School of Pharmaceutical Science of Sun Yat-sen University. With the theme of "New Age, New Preparations and New Development", the conference invited experts and scholars in pharmaceutics all over the world to conduct in-depth discussions on the development of pharmaceutical industry in the new era. The conference attracted more than 1600 experts and young scholars from scientific research institutes, pharmaceutical enterprises and other related fields. There were five sub-forums in the conference: Basic Pharmaceutics Forum, Industrial Pharmaceutics Forum, Annual Meeting of CRS China Chapter, Hospital Pharmaceutical Forum and Postgraduate Pharmaceutical Forum. Pharmaceuticals experts and scholars discussed the latest research developments of pharmaceutical preparations. The conference was also broadcast live on the Internet at the same time.

Professor Lu Weiyue presided over the main forum of the meeting. Vice dean Pan Jun presided over the annual meeting of CRS China Chapter. Professors Wang Jianxin and Wu Wei presided over the speeches in the sub-forum. Professors Jiang Chen, Cai Weimin, Wei Gang, Chen Jun, Lu Yi, Qin Jing, and graduate students Ran Danni, Zhu Ying, He Haisheng and Chen Qinyue introduced their latest research results in the sub-forum. According to the performance of the on-site speech, the list of outstanding papers to be awarded in each sub-forum was evaluated with relevant experts. Professor Wei Gang was awarded the special prize for excellent young pharmacist report, associate professor Qin Jing won the second prize, doctoral student Ran Danni was awarded the first prize for excellent thesis, and master student Huang Zhigang was awarded the excellent wall newspaper.
