2017年9月15日下午，美国堪萨斯大学药学院Aya & Takeru Higuchi杰出教授Teruna J. Siahaan博士在美国加州Diayzme实验室总裁袁崇生博士的陪同下到访复旦大学药学院，与王明伟院长和陆伟教授举行会谈。访问期间，他以“Challenges and progress in delivering molecules through the blood-brain barrier”为题作了精彩的学术报告。Siahaan教授首先介绍了堪萨斯大学药学院的概况和研究生教育特色，他随后讲述了利用小分子多肽短暂性打开血脑屏障以增加药物脑内递送的研究心得，为脑靶向药物的开发提供了新的思路。在互动环节，王明伟院长指出，复旦大学药学院在建设“双一流”的形势下，面临前所未有的机遇，全院师生务必开拓进取，创造具有颠覆性意义的学术成果。
Professor Teruna Siahaan of the University of Kansas visits Fudan School of Pharmacy
Accompanied by Dr. Chongsheng Yuan, Managing Director of Diazyme Laboratories (California, USA), Dr. Teruna J. Siahaan, Aya & Takeru Higuchi Distinguished Professor of School of Pharmacy, the University of Kansas (KU), visited School of Pharmacy, Fudan University in the afternoon of September 15, 2017. After a productive discussion with Drs. Ming-Wei Wang (Dean) and Wei Lu (Professor of Pharmaceutics), Dr. Siahaan delivered a seminar entitled “Challenges and progress in delivering molecules through the blood-brain barrier”. His overview of KU and its postgraduate study programs was followed by presentation of his research focusing on the utilization of small peptides to transiently open the blood-brain barrier tight junction in order to enhance brain drug penetration, which offers a new strategy in targeted drug delivery. During the Q&A session, Dr. Wang pointed out that Fudan School of Pharmacy is facing a great opportunity in China efforts to develop “the first-class university and the first-class discipline”. He encouraged both teachers and students to be open-minded and creative in order to make breakthrough scientific achievements.
